OUR STORY

How we started

 

       It started with a trip to the local discount department store in hopes of finding some new hobby to keep me entertained in my small city apartment. While searching for some yarn (I was thinking of advancing my crochet skills) I came across a Sew & Go pattern for PJ shorts. The shorts were so ugly I wouldn't give them to my most disliked distant relative, but the material was amazing. I purchased the greatly discounted pattern and went home to get creative. With the help of my husband and my small sewing kit, I had sewn a cute (very amature) shoulder bag. After posting on Facebook I got several comments on how people liked it. A close friend of mine asked me to make her one, and again by hand I sewed her a music note laptop bag (Bundy's Bag in the Gallery). From there things only picked up. I soon had friends all over asking my to make them purses and upcycled bags. Soon I received a portable sewing machine as a gift, and productivity increased rapidly from there. Now I sell through Facebook, this website, and word of mouth.   

​     The purpose of Abintra Designs to to provide that "perfect" handbag that you've always dreamed of. Take the ideas in our Gallery and combine them with different aspects from your favorite past purses...WA-LA! You have that "perfect" handbag you can't find in stores. New ideas are always entering the Gallery and my brain, so keep coming back for inspiration of that "perfect" handbag.
